I know I haven't been updating this page for a long time... Almost 4 months have passed since I last posted a proper post. (Not counting the "Tagged" one!) Well, I have been really busy with life university (who said that life in university is easy needs to be shot!!! lol) and I'm too darn lazy to think what to write when I actually had the time. :P

Ok, when I'm writing now... I'm actually 12 hours away for the ^$&@# lab test and less than 2 weeks from finals... :/ Programming.... *sigh* It's gives me a huge headache... well, it's only nice when you know how to program properly... I'm not one of those programmers...

Start of a new chapter... sneak peak

Alright people... as most of you know, I will be going to UKM (National University of Malaysia) this Sunday. Well, UKM is just a half an hour drive from my house but I will have to stay at the campus hotel coz of the first year rule... First years are not allowed to bring cars into the campus anyway (Ah crap.....!) so, maybe staying in a hostel is easier after all... although I really don't wanna leave home if I'm given a choice. :( But this will give a whole new experience. :)

So, this week, I have been busy preparing for the big day... medical checkup, buy stuff, fill up (I don't know how many) forms, get a new bank account, pay fees and bla bla bla.... Lots of things to do... (I still managed to go shopping and watch transformers though :P). But ahhhh... I hate filling up forms.... i wonder why the ministry of higher education here can't do everything online... papers are just so annoying and troublesome...! =="

So, next week will be orientation week... it seems it will be hectic week... the day starts 5 am that week... and moral lecture at 5 am on next tues (WTH??!! ==" Seriously I don't think anyone is going to listen to a moral lecture... esp at dawn!) lots of physical activities and lots of talks... Seeing all those activities, I guess I will have to say goodbye to my computer for that week... (I hope I can still come online for a while though)

THINGS TO BRING FOR ORIENTATION WEEK:

Of course clothes and my flip flops... That's only less than half of the clothes I will have to bring there mind you... :o

Well, I should have posted this yesterday... but then I was too lazy again. :P Anyway, went to a picnic with the youths at Lentang Waterfall yesterday. It was really fun! It's been a really long time since I last went to a waterfall area... so, playing in the cool river waters felt great for me. :) But yeah, I did get a few blue-blacks and bumps from all those slipping and bumping on those slippery river rocks :P but ah... who cares about that when you were having such fun in the water! :)

Something Important...

Rejected applicants still have chance to enter varsity

PUTRAJAYA: Applicants not accepted into Universiti Sains Malaysia or had rejected the university’s offer will be re-entered into the University Admission Unit’s pool of applicants.

This will allow them to be considered by other public universities.

They, along with all other applicants to the unit, can find out if they have been offered a place in other public universities starting from noon on June 19.

On Friday, the names of 4,574 applicants were mistakenly uploaded on the university’s website as being successful in their applications.

This was in addition to the 3,599 candidates who had been accepted by the university.

As an apex-status university, it was allowed to directly select its own students for the first time this year, with its admission procedure separate from that of the unit.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has ordered the ministry to set up an independent committee to investigate the incident.

“I wish to stress that I am very concerned,” he said, adding that he took the complaints from parents and students very seriously.

“I have ordered the Higher Education Department to ensure that those who qualify according to the meritocratic selection process were not left out,” he said in a statement.

Department director-general Prof Datuk Dr Radin Umar Radin Suhadi said around 1,300 of the “wrong” candidates had accepted the university’s offer before it realised the error on Saturday.

“The independent committee will investigate and take corrective and preventive actions to avoid it from recurring in future,” he said.

The committee, headed by deputy director-general (management) Omar Abdul Rahman, is expected to complete and submit its report to the minister in a week’s time, he said.

Applicants who were rejected by university have until June 10 to appeal for a review of the decision.

There are 40,366 places for public universities available for the 2009/2010 academic session while the UPU has received 61,027 applications.

Candidates can check the status of their university applications on June 19 at www.upu.mohe.gov.my, www.mohe.gov.my, www.jpt.utm.my and www.jpt.uum.edu.my or via SMS to 15888 (type UPU RESULT_IC number), or calling 03-8883 5858 or 03-8883 5848.

Candidates must indicate their acceptance of the offer online at their respective university’s website.

Hmmm.... so, the results of my application will only be announced on the 19th this month. Fingers crossed that I will get a good university and my desired course. :)

USM Application.... FAILED

Alright.... I failed in my application to enter USM... :(

So, I will have to wait and see how my application to enter the other local universities goes... which is expected to be announced in the third week this month. Fingers crossed for that! 

Watched Angels & Demons...

Alright.... I was actually supposed to post this yesterday but I was too lazy to do it.... so, here it is today. :P

Ok, I went out to IOI Mall to watch Angels & Demons with Yin Peng yesterday. It is quite a great show... though the storyline is quite against Christianity (I'm never a fan of Dan Brown...)but hey.... nobody asked me to believe the story in the movie... I just watched the movie for leisure and coz my friend invited me to... :) Well, the movie is rated at 18+ and thanks goodness the cinema attendant didn't ask my age this time like they do in Mid Valley the last time... (Oh whee.... finally I look like 18 to the eyes of someone! :P)

So, before the movie... we went for a chow at sushi king coz we're somehow craving Japanese food at that time. But I tell you... japanese food is EXPENSIVE!!! ==" My lunch consists of 4 types of sushis and a California Roll... and it costs... RM16.00 per person! Wow... my lunch at McD usually only costs around 7 or 8 bucks per set. =="

Another one of my rantings....

ARRGH!!!! I HATE GEOMETRICAL CONSTRUCTION!!! No, don't get me wrong.... I don't hate the chapter coz I sucked at it... (In fact, I kinda liked the chapter when I was in Form 2 coz I was pretty good at it and it was one of the few chapters in Maths which didn't require a single calculation! :P) Well, I hate it now coz I HAVE TO TO TEACH MY BROTHER THAT CHAPTER!!! My brother doesn't have a single clue about the chapter and he's having exams next week... so, no choice.... I have to tutor him :( Ok.... teaching is bad enough already.... now I have to teach someone who can't even construct a 60° angle properly... GRRR!!! :S

Ok.... I'm really ranting again.... Please bear with me people... :P I will try not to rant soo much again. :)

Alright, hate me all you want.... throw profanities at me.... I admit, I haven't been writing for I don't know how many days already. Why? Because.... I confess, I'm too lazy to think and write these few days. LOL! Yeah... yeah... I'm a lazy bugger. Everytime I come online, (which is almost 24/7...lol) I always thought of writing my heart out but everytime.... I will always think.... ah tomorrow I will write.... tomorrow... tomorrow and tomorrow. Ah... the tomorrow doesn't seem to end. So, ok... OK!!! I will finally write now. :P

Ah... ignore the stupid note that I crapped out above. So, for the last few days when I was not blogging, there were some things interesting happening. I became a site contributor in M24 (lol), do something really interesting with my church youth and ..... working.... YES! You heard(see) it.... WORKING!!! I'm not going to crap much about the first two thing, so, lets go straight to the two (and only) days I was working.

Well, it started when I was with CBC Puchong youth at Giant. Suddenly mom called me on my mobile and asked me to stand in for one of her colleagues in her kindergarten who couldn't come to work for 2days. I was like WHAT?! Teaching??!! (I don't have to elaborate the relationship between me and teaching I think... ==") Then, mom said... "Don't worry, you will be paid." I was like... ookayy. :S I admit it.... the money was quite tempting but in order to earn it.... I must do something I have always hated to do, so wasn't really too enthusiastic bout it.... especially when it involves KIDS!!! :o

So, Monday.... I had to wake up on 6 am (a really hard thing to do for me... :P) and go to work with my mom at 7:10 am. Bla bla bla till 8:20am... class started. Ok... I was a little nervous when I entered the class to meet the 5-year-old kids. I introduced myself as 'Teacher Vivian' (Can't imagine huh? ==' I actually prefered to be called 'Jie jie' (Big Sister in the Chinese Language) instead but mom insisted that I'm known as 'Teacher' :S) and asked them to read their storybooks (Those Peter and Jane series... I'm not sure you guys know bout them or not :P) out loud. Well, they can read very well... I was impressed. :) I have to say most of the 5-year-kids are pretty smart and can be considered 'angels' of kids... and I actually enjoyed teaching them! (SURPRISE!) I especially had a liking for this little girl... Shirley. She's really cute and chatty... and she's pretty close to me... I dunno why. :D

I taught the 5-year-olds till 9:30 am then I took the Year 3 tuition classes after the break. Well, I thought teaching 9-year-olds will be much better but hell I was soo wrong!!! Well, it was really bad.... all because of ONE kid!!! This kid... I tell you, he's really a little rascal. He doesn't only neglect all his work and not listen to instructions... he caused the class to be in chaos! I always heard my mom complaining about one naughty boy in her class but I never knew who he is before this.... Now I know who he is!!!

Day 2... It's was actually quite the same story as Day 1 but this time... I had to teach 6-year-old kids instead of 9-year-olds. Now, I know most of you guys will think that 6-year-olds are better than 5-year-olds. Wrong..... they were worse. Well, most of them were pretty well-behaved but some boys were just.... no comments. =="

Well, I have to say that it's a pretty pleasant experience. :) Don't get me wrong.... I still hate teaching but I have to admit that I actually enjoyed my 2-day stint as an educator... lol. But one thing when I see those kids.... I actually miss my own childhood very much! I really wish that I can go back to the age when I do not have make so much decisions, get depressed and being able to enjoy life without a care of what's happening in the world. Ahhh... being a kid is soo much fun!!! lol...

Anyway, nothing special these few days... ok, one thing... dad bought a new RAM for my lappie. :D Now, my lappie won't have any lagging problems anymore... HURRAY! (Well, as long I don't load my comp with too much rubbish... :P) Oh... happy happy! :D

Oh... these few days I'm in the mood to upload on M24... Just feel like racking up my that 'little' reward points... lol. xD (Well, it IS little compared to some people there!). Well, I don't know if I will ever archieve the 'Site Contributor' status or not... but it will be really nice if I can reach 1000RP... lol :D

Ah... now on a more serious matter... I would like to thank God for protecting my brother, Adrian last Friday. You see... he was playing doubles in badminton with his friends at MBA and he was accidently struck near his left eye by one of his friend's racquet. Well, he got a cut near his eye that required 2 stitches... but thank God the racquet didn't struck directly on his eye... only He knows what will happen if that racquet got his eye... :o Anyway, he's fine now... thankfully :) (He's already back annoying me AGAIN!!! :P)

Hmmm... nothing much to write today. Was REALLY bored!!! :( Spent the while day in front the computer again.... (at least foruming at M24 is pretty fun today! :D), going into a Linkin Park marathon again, playing some NFS and reading some stuff... (nonsensical stuff). Wait... I did something significant... teaching my brother Malay essay and Maths. Well... as usual... it was NOT fun... especially if you have a brother who expect you to spoon-feed him word by word when he's writing an essay and finds the Pythagoras Theorem confusing! (Come on.... the Pythagoras Theorem is one of the easiest chapter I ever learnt in Maths!!! ==") So, by the time it was finished... I was already up the wall already! :P Sometimes, I wonder how the proper teachers do it... putting up with slow learning kids and patiently teaching them step by step until the kids know something. I REALLY salute them.... lol! (Only the really dedicated teachers... not the lazy ones!)

Anyway, not much happening today.... wait there's one... I got an offer letter from a college... Kolej Yayasan Melaka. Well, it seemed like a good offer till I saw the courses... Bachelor in Education or Bachelor in English! oO" Well, as most of you guys know, what i want is IT. And.......

Bachelor in English => Okay, I won't deny I kinda liked English... but me and perfect grammar aren't exactly the bestest of friends... :P And I'm not a fan of writing and literature...

The weird thing is... I don't even know where and how on Earth this college got my details and house address... coz I don't remember applying for it... (Well, I will never apply for a teaching course or anything to do with languages...). :S  Ah... just forget it Vivian.... there are still many universities out there... :) IT... here I come! Finally!

Hah! Finally!!!

I just finished reinstalling all my programs into my lappie after formatting it this morning!!! I'm happier now coz my laptop doesn't lag anymore (ok... maybe a lil' bit but is negligable), and all the malicious wares infecting my pc are resting in peace!!! Woohoo! :D Well, I hope my computer doesn't freeze again (My common complaint last time!). ;)

Oh yeah... this Sat, I"m going back to Ipoh (my hometown) with my family... Looking forward to seeing my cousins again... :) But I'm hoping there is internet at my grandma house... There was one time when there was internet at her place coz one of the neighbours had WiFi without the WEP key, so I can happily go online using my lappie... but the last time we went back (during chinese new year), I couldn't find any WiFi signal... So, no internet! :S Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed now. :)

Hmmm... I don't know why but I'm feeling really strange now... Like something is really bothering me... What's the reason I don't know... WHY? What is worrying me???? :(

Messing with my computer desktop... and POOF!!!

I was really bored out of my can today, so I decided to mess around with my computer's desktop. :P I have seen some really nice desktop made by experts which are posted around the internet... so I decided to try pimping my desktop as well. Well, after messing around for a few hours, here's my desktop... :) (I didn't change the wallpaper though...)


So, what do you think guys? This is the first time I really pimp my desktop to the max (without counting the BIG failure yesterday... :S), so it won't be perfect I think...

BTW, helped mom to clean up the house today... URGHH!!! Everything was soo messy!!! The dust generated from the clean-up make me sneeze almost the whole day after that... lol. Other than that... well, nothing much I can blog today... :S

P.S: Really suffering from withdrawal symptoms now coz of lack of shopping... ANYONE????

I overslept again today... :P

Anyway, spent nearly the whole day in front of the computer... Well, I nearly lost everything I have in my computer! It all started when I tried to make my computer to be a Windows 7 look alike. Well, to do that, some system files need to be modded. So, I follow the instructions that I read in internet and did exactly what are said there. So, after modding the files... I restarted the computer and OMG!!! Windows won't start at all!!! *GASP* I nearly panicked coz I don't have any backup for all my precious files (photos, songs etc.) and was horrified at the thought of losing all of them if I'm forced to reformat my computer. (Well, I will do it soon anyway... but wait till I can find the time to backup everything!!! :P) Thank God there is Safe-Mode and System Restore and my computer is safe. :) Well, I will never mess with the system files again EVER!!!

Anyway, can't get a Windows 7 look... so, i just changed the wallpaper and installed some programs to make the windows and taskbar look transparent. :) (My computer is powered with Windows Vista Basic... so there's no Aero Glass Effect preinstalled. :( ... )

I know... It's really simple... But I like my desktop to be dark and not too flowery ~~~~

Just came back from IOI Mall a while ago... Saw this phone... It's kinda nice and really unique... coz it utilizes mostly only touch gestures to operate the phone... calling, sms-ing, music, camera... well, everything is done by touch! No buttons!!! Well, RM670 if anyone's interested. :) (Not for me though... no WiFi in this phone! :P)

Hey, I don't mean to be a big moaner.... but am I living in a volcano now?? Or in sahara?? Or the sun?? Whatever it is..... It is RIDICULOUSLY HOTTTT!!!!!!!!! What's up with the weather nowadays? Must be the effect of global warming...... Please people!!! Stop cutting down trees!!! lol... :P

Anyway, took the MUNSYI Test today.... I must say that it's actually quite a silly test.... 310 questions.... one hour..... all questions about personalities, likes and dislikes and bla bla... Well, had to wake up early this morning just to find the school where I'm supposed to take the test. Thank God for the invention of Garmin (In case there's some who doesn't know what is it... it is a company making GPS receivers...) or I don't know where I will end up in coz the school seems to be located in the middle of nowhere! =="

Anyway, the test is easy and in the same time ridiculous. You just have to mark ya atau tidak (Yes or No) and Setuju atau Tidak Setuju (Agree or Disagree). That's the easy part. The ridiculous part is actually the questions! Why? Here's an example of a question --> Adakah kamu suka menjalinkan persahabatan baru melalui internet? (Do you like to make new friends through the internet?) Anyway, no prizes for guessing what's my answer is to that question... :)

MUNSYI Test...

Yesterday, I was so hooked up playing poker in facebook, so did not blog... lol. :P So, I will make up for that today.

Anyway, got a SMS from Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia Science University). In the message, they asked me to attend a test called MUNSYI Test. I thought.... what on earth is that? So, I checked it out in the university's website and found out that MUNSYI actually stands for 'MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY SELECTION INVENTORY'. Now... even that name also got me wondering wildly about what type of test is that... :S

Anyway, here's the entrance slip the university asked me to print and bring to the test centre on the 18th this month.... (click to enlarge)

Tujuan MUnsyI
Instrumen MUnsyI dibangunkan untuk memperoleh maklumat berkaitan kualiti intrinsik calon meliputi Minat Kerjaya, Personaliti, Nilai Integriti, Kecerdasan Emosi dan Patriotisme sebagai tambahan kepada maklumat sedia ada calon. Maklumat yang diperoleh daripada pengukuran ini digunakan untuk memilih calon yang sesuai bagi kemasukan ke pelbagai program pengajian yang ditawarkan oleh universiti di Malaysia. Secara khususnya, justifikasi penggunaan instrumen MUnsyI adalah seperti berikut:
a.	Membantu calon pelajar memilih program yang paling sesuai dengan dirinya.
b.	Membantu universiti mendapatkan calon pelajar yang paling sesuai berdasarkan konsep “individu yang betul untuk program yang betul”. Instrumen ini berupaya membezakan calon pelajar yang berpotensi untuk berjaya dalam bidang yang diikutinya.
c.	Pemilihan calon pelajar tidak tertumpu kepada pencapaian akademik semata-mata, tetapi mengambil kira aspek minat kerjaya, personaliti, nilai integriti, kecerdasan emosi dan patriotisme sejajar dengan Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan.
d.	Membantu mengurangkan masalah dalaman yang timbul di universiti hasil daripada konflik pemilihan program yang berbangkit semasa pengajian seperti bertukar program, prestasi yang rendah, keciciran dan kecelaruan emosi.
e.	Antara kriteria ranking universiti adalah berdasarkan jumlah pelajar yang memperoleh ijazah dalam masa yang ditetapkan dan mendapat pekerjaan dalam tempoh enam bulan selepas bergraduat. Keselarasan pelajar dengan bidang pengajian mengguna MUnSI membantu merealisasikan hasrat universiti memperoleh ranking yang terbaik.
f.	Instrumen MUnSI ini seiring dengan Sistem Pentaksiran Pendidikan Kebangsaan (SPPK) yang sedang dalam proses pelaksanaan oleh Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia.

Anyway, according to all the article, the test is some kind of personality test to determine whether you are suitable for a certain courses or not. Well, this shouldn't be too hard. :) Anyway, wish me luck k?

Another week... another story on a Monday...

Ok.... I'm one of those who LOVES Mondays (only during my current break...) Why? Because I don't have to go to school or work and my parents and brothers are all at work at school respectively. :P So, I can do my own things in peace and quiet condition and I can watch movies or play the playstation without anyone disturbing! :P But, this time... Monday is a different.... coz there was a power cut during the day! ARGH! Most of my hobbies need electricity... so I was bored out of my can today. :S Thank goodness the weather wasn't hot and the power came back early (It's supposed to be from 8am - 5pm)... :) So no computer, no TV, no PS, what did I do? Well, I slept till 11.30am today (partly coz i slept at 4.30 am yesterday), play Resident Evil on my mobile, read some ghost stories and being a good girl (*AHEM!!!*) and cleaning up the house... lol. :P

Anyway, I was introduced to playing texas hold'em poker in Facebook by a friend and oh boy... I'm soo addicted to it now. It's a really addictive game once you start playing it. Too bad, today wasn't my lucky day (I kept losing!!!) and stupid internet started to play up a while ago... so, I had to stop... GRRRR!!!!

There... my internet is being annoying again (So, that means no photos..)... So, that's all I gonna pen for now... Ciao!

This morning, I was dreading going to church... Because I got a sms yesterday from Ying Yi that we have to perform the skit again today... in front of 100+ people! Oh no... this is going to be humiliating... especially in front of my parents and the two monkeys! Poor Joel Chan (the bunny remember?) didn't even know that we were performing the skit in front of 100+ eyes and I can see the tortured look on his face when we told him about it this morning... lol. Well, don't worry Joel C, you're not the only one facing this 'humiliation'... lol.... I, Joshua, Zhen Bi and Joel G had to face it too!

Well, I won't deny that the skit actually goes really well... but people (esp. young kids) are laughing during the whole show... It must be really hilarious... (=="). I dunno about the others but as for me, I have to endure a whole day worth of teasing from my two brother.... Ah... but overall it's a pretty fun Easter! :D I really enjoyed it and hopefully it will much the same next year. :) (Just don't make me act as a dead person again... :P)
